TOUR INFORMATION AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Volt Military Heroes Program, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, & Hire America’s Heroes cordially invites you to this rare opportunity to visit a US Nuclear Submarine. The objective of this tour is to provide civilians an inside look at the men and women who serve in today’s armed services. For a preview of Submarine Group 9, please visit www.csg9.navy.mil.
The submarine service is a high security operation. General public and individual tours are not available. Tours of submarines are available to eligible groups only. Eligible groups include Department of the Navy sponsored groups and friends of Navy groups (i.e., Hire America’s Heroes, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and others.)
Participation in this event is by invitation only. You are invited as the guest of Steven Shaw, President and CEO, Volt Information Sciences, and one of the Founders and Sponsors of Hire America’s Heroes.
Below is a list of rules and information for all guests attending submarine tours. Guests must understand safety and security rules involved with a submarine tour. Maximum capacity is 35 persons.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
12:00 Noon Arrival - Please arrive at the Keyport Undersea Museum parking lot no later than noon (earlier would be better.)
12:15 PM Bus from Keyport Undersea Museum to Submarine Dock - The Navy bus escort leaves the Keyport Undersea Museum promptly at 12:15. No stragglers will be allowed onto the tour.
1:00 PM Submarine Tour – Security screening will be conducted on the bus and before the group enters the submarine. All registrants are subject to Navy Regulations which now require that each visitor provide proof of US citizenship by bringing a passport or birth certificate in addition to official identification such as a driver’s license.
2:00-2:30 PM Submarine Tour Ends – Submarine Tour lasts about 1 to 1 ½ hours depending upon the number of questions being asked. Return to Keyport Undersea Museum parking lot by Navy bus escort.
PARKING & PICKUP INFORMATION
Parking and pickup for guests will be at the Keyport Undersea Museum parking lot. http://www.history.navy.mil/museums/keyport/index1.htm The museum itself is home to a fascinating collection of undersea warfare exhibits. It is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and you are welcomed to arrive early or stay late for an extension of your visit to Keyport.
***Parking for tours is located at the end of the lot away from the entrance to the Museum.
COMSUBGRU NINE will provide transportation from the museum, throughout the tour and return guests to the museum following the submarine tour. You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the Keyport Undersea Museum. Driving directions are provided at the website: http://www.history.navy.mil/museums/keyport/location.htm.
EVENT REGISTRATION
All registrants are subject to Navy Regulations which now require that each visitor provide proof of US citizenship by bringing a passport or birth certificate in addition to official identification such as a driver’s license.
Registrations must be received no later than April 15, 2010. Final instructions will be provided to confirmed registrants. (Please note that registration is always subject to change by Navy.)

Guests whose ID card does not match the approved guest list will be denied access.
Once we have received your list, changes CANNOT be made. If there are people in your group that are not sure about going, add them to the list to be safe (Omissions and no shows are fine).

TOUR INFORMATION AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
SECURITY
All guests must be US citizens and bring proof of citizenship, in the form of
CONTRABAND. The below items are considered contraband. Any guests caught with contraband will be banned from attending the tour and the contraband items will be confiscated and/or destroyed.
(Health and medical related electronic devices are allowed)
Physical Requirements
If guests arrive topside on a submarine and decide they cannot negotiate the ladder, the entire tour must be cancelled as guest may not remain on the bus/pier unescorted during the tour.
DRESS CODE
Guests must wear comfortable clothes and shoes, suitable for climbing ladders and negotiating submarine hatches. Non skid soles are recommended and jeans or slacks are acceptable – no skirts, dresses or open toed/high heels shoes, flip flops or sandals are allowed.
Political or offensive clothing (T-shirts) are not permitted.
All guests must read and understand the above rules.
Tour escorts may deny access to the base and/or cancel the tour if guests do not comply with these rules
